Never Ending Story
06/06
The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation was proud to participate in this year’s Pride Event in Oceanside, celebrating creativity, community, and inclusion alongside so many wonderful local organizations and residents. OCAF hosted a tent space where visitors were invited to engage with the arts in a fun and interactive way, helping create a welcoming environment that encouraged people of all ages to stop by, connect, and contribute.
One of the highlights of OCAF’s booth was an activity called “The Never Ending Story.” A long piece of paper was set out for guests, and anyone walking by could add a line of text to continue a spontaneous, collaborative story. Each contribution added a new voice, a new direction, and a little bit of surprise, turning the activity into a shared creative experience that reflected the spirit of the event itself — open, expressive, and community-driven.
AS THE SUN RISES OVER THE OCEANSIDE PRIDE FESTIVAL, I ….
Followed the light through the palms, between the waking homes …
A burble of sound came from the distance …
It was then that I looked over there and saw the …
huge dragon hugging people and …
slobbering all over herself (smiling) because …
they were filled full of Pride and went for a journey to …
find themselves and …
flew up into the beautiful sky filled with warm rain and a double rainbow. They
could hear the slightest sound of magnificent music …
and the first song was …
Happy Birthday and right then a helicopter landed and out hopped a bunny rabbit
who said …
“HAPPY PRIDE!” Then a giant, loud, awesome …
Elephant appeared reminding us we belong as much as flowers do. When …
a loud song started playing …
and I began to dance to the beautiful melody. I felt …
wonderful and it made everyone cry …
for the stars shone brightly that night.
Every constellation danced together in the sky …
and there was astrology and astrocartgraphy …
promising a wonderful future full of …
peaceful antemplative and buckets of sunshine but …
also moments of …
?__________ …
To really progress as a society, it is important we …
love one another even when we don’t like them…
each individual should start with …
LOVE and kindness …
While being human …
Expressing all of their uniqueness with no judgement while …
Widening their concept of humanity – being human. Decolonize out thinking –
we can move closer to mother earth and all living beings …
Human beings, we are all the same, raised with love for others. How were you
going to change? …
And the answer to the question was …
LOVE!
