Write On Oceanside

Write On, Oceanside! is an annual literary festival which began in 2010, to celebrate and inspire local authors. This year’s 11th celebration will take place on August 13, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in and around the Oceanside Civic Center.

Event organizers Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation, and the Oceanside Public Library with the support of Friends of the Oceanside Public Library and are pleased that “Write On, Oceanside!” has become popular with the community’s talented authors. Over the past few years, it has grown into one of the largest literary fairs in the county.

CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our Hemingway 6 Word Story!

3rd Place: Was mistaken for Jesus, chaos followed, by Matthew Christian Scher;

2nd Place: Unexpectedly pregnant in Texas, August 2022, by Vanessa Boon;         

1st Place: He collapsed, and death united them by Anna Bushi.

TRY YOUR HAND AT OUR “6 WORD STORY” CONTEST.

Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway bet his literary friends that he could write an entire story in six words. The group put $10.00 each into the pot, then Hemingway wrote, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” NOW, it is your turn! A complete story in 6 words.
