Write On Oceanside

Write On, Oceanside! is an annual literary festival to celebrate and inspire local authors. This year’s 23rd annual event will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in and around the Oceanside Civic Center Community Rooms.

Event organizers Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation, and the Oceanside Public Library with the support of Friends of the Oceanside Public Library and are pleased that “Write On, Oceanside!” has become popular with the community’s talented authors. Over the past few years, it has grown into one of the largest literary fairs in the county.

We are looking for published Oceanside and surrounding communities’ authors of all genre.

  • Limited to 20 authors, so do not delay in making your reservation
  • Oceanside authors will have first preference, but we encourage all to apply
  • There will be workshops, readings, and other activities. Authors are encouraged to bring books for signing and selling
  • Authors will be provided table, chair, snacks, limited edition WOO book bag

It’s Baack! “Write On, Oceanside!”s 6 Word Story Contest

Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway bet his literary friends that he could write an entire story in six words, one sentence. The group put $10.00 each into the pot, then Hemingway wrote, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

Everyone is invited to try their hand.  Come up with your best bite-sized story. Prizes for those judged best.
