Oceanside’s Annual Literary Festival

Celebrate the power of storytelling at Write On Oceanside! the city’s premier literary festival highlighting local authors and their work. The 24th annual event will take place Saturday, October 11, 2025, in and around the Oceanside Civic Center Community Rooms.

Organized by the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation and the Oceanside Public Library, with support from the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library, this free community festival has grown into one of San Diego County’s largest literary fairs. Don’t miss this inspiring day of books, authors, and creativity in the heart of Oceanside.

Meet local authors and learn about their writing and books. Books will be available for purchase and signing!

11am | Children’s Activities
Bring the kids to make crafts and participate in various fun activities.

1:30am | Writing Contest Winners
The winners of the Six Word Story contest will be announced.

Writing Workshops

10:30AM – 11:45AM | How to Publish
Join authors Clive Gill, Christopher Long, and Jolie Tunnell as they each share about their individual experiences getting their books published.

12:30PM – 1:45PM | Zine Workshop
Get creative and learn how to make a zine with the help of graphic artist Vince Alvendia. Vince Alvendia is a local indie comic artist and illustrator native to San Diego.
