Diagnosed with Parkinson’s during a global pandemic, E.J. Lanning began each day with a morning walk to stay active.  The daily walks evolved from an opportunity for physical exercise into E.J. reflecting on his gratitude for God’s blessings and the beauty of nature.  His reflection inspired him to try painting for the first time in his life.  His goal with each piece of art is to evoke the energy of nature in a bold, colorful and abstract way.  Since March of 2020 he has painted over 200 pieces.

E.J. resides in North County with his fiancé, Maurine.  In his free time, he plays with his grandchildren and visits art galleries for inspiration.  Previously a former basketball player he also enjoys coaching and watching sports.  To view additional artwork by E.J. follow him on Instagram @ejlanningartwork or email him at ejlanningartwork@gmail.com.
